Oxon Hill school goes on lockdown after nearby robbery | News
OXON HILL, Md. (WUSA9) -- Forest Heights Elementary School went on lockdown after a reported armed robbery happened at a nearby Ace Hardware store, Prince George's County police said.
The robbery happened in the 30 block of Audrey Lane in Oxon Hill around 10 a.m. at the Ace Hardware store, according to authorities. Police learned that three men entered the store, pulled out what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money. At one point the suspects shot the employee with what turned out to be an air pistol. The suspects then fled the area.
Police said the employee was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects are still being sought.
The Forest Heights Elementary School went on lockdown as a precautionary measure. There is no immediate danger to school students or staff.
