PGPD Announces Arrests in Homicide on Glenshire Drive

 The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested Alusine Kanu, 22, Ransford Caulker, 25,  and Tanseh John Nicholas, 25, in connection with the homicide of Oluseun A. Fashina, 23, in Glendale, Maryland.   

On April 17, 2011 at approximately 4:14 a.m., Patrol Units responded to the 10800 block of Glenshire Drive for a report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, Patrol Units found Fashina, of the 15000 block of Jennings Lane in Bowie, Maryland, suffering from trauma to his body.  He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

Boxer Convicted of 1st Degree Assault

UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela D. Alsobrooks announced that Circuit Court Judge Maureen Lamasney found Ronald Dion Boyd, 31, of Suitland, Maryland, guilty of first degree assault after he strangled and repeatedly punched his wife because she hugged another man at a nightclub. 

 

The incident occurred last April and the defendant was a trained boxer.

 

Prosecutors successfully used testimony of the wife’s friend who witnessed the assault as well as her medical records that detailed the victim’s injuries.

   The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested Mario Domingo-Ucelo, 24, in connection with the murder of Abraham Felipe-Lopez which occurred Sunday evening in Langley Park, Maryland.

Sheriff High Discusses First Ninety Days in Office

Prince George’s County, Maryland-Sheriff Melvin C. High said at his first press conference as Sheriff, that he has achieved the goals he set out for the first ninety days of his administration as Sheriff and that the Agency is where he hoped it would be.  The Sheriff said warrants have been reduced by over 3,000 since he took office and that the approach he and his leadership team took from day one was to roll up their sleeves with specific plans for the Agency.

“Today, we are quite literally where I hoped to be in the first ninety days in office,” said High. 

Latin Kings Leader Sentenced To 60 Years in Prison

        U.S. District Judge Alexander Williams sentenced Erick Roman, a/k/a “Erick Javier Sierra,” “Malian-T” and “King Malian-T,” age 34, of Laurel, Maryland, late yesterday to 60 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiracy to participate in a racketeering enterprise, in connection with his gang activities as a member and leader of the Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation (Latin Kings).

Man Dies In Fatal Stabbing In District Heights

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD (WUSA)--Prince George's County Police say that at approximately 4:02AM Sunday, officers responded to the 7500 block of Marion Street in District Heights, Maryland, for a report of a stabbing.

Police say that when officers arrived at the location they found 28 year old Ralph Benard Thomas Jr, unresponsive, suffering from stab wounds. During the investigation police determined the stabbing actually occured at Silver Hill Road and Suitland Road. Thomas was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are looking for a light blue or possibly a silver blue late model Chevy occupied by a black male and a black female.

This is the 17th homicide of 2011 in Prince George's County.
