Annual “Heat's On – Water's Off” Project Set for Sept 24th

Annual “Heat's On – Water's Off” Project Set for Sept 24th

 

On Saturday, September 24, 2011, the Annual “Heat's On – Water's Off” project will provide preventive maintenance to heating and plumbing equipment to the elderly and disabled who may have difficulty paying for such services.  The one-day project will assist over 25 homeowners who may be running inefficient, faulty or hazardous equipment.  The Prince George’s County Fire Department will also be visiting homes to check smoke detectors and provide carbon monoxide detectors.

Patriots Technology Training Center to Host Back to School Kick Off

"WELCOME BACK" Students, Teachers, Parents, Guidance Counselors, Principals, Superintendent and School Board Members... We have a great STEM line up for this year. We invite to you join us on Saturday, September 17th at Kenmoor Middle School, 2500 Kenmoor Drive, Landover, MD from 10am to 1pm. We have partnered with 12 middle schools that will provide a team to participate in our academic competitions. Come and check out our competitions and sign up to be in the competition of your choice. On Friday, September 16th at the Eastover Shopping Center, The Prince George’s County Police, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Department’s 7th District, along with local businesses and faith-based organizations of both jurisdictions, will be hosting the “Unity in the Community, Beyond Borders” community walk along Southern Avenue from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Celebrates 51st Anniversary in Sept.

 The Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church festival celebrates their 51st annual festival, Friday through Sunday, Sept. 16, 17 and 18, 2011, from 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday (rain or shine). The largest and oldest DC Greek Festival is located at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church at the corner of 16th and Upshur streets in Washington, D.C. Admission is FREE.
