David E. Talbert’s New Play “What My Husband Doesn’t Know,” brings Hollywood to your city!

This weekend Hollywood comes to DC!  Award winning playwright, filmmaker and author David E. Talbert presents his new play “What My Husband Doesn’t Know,” at the Legendary Warner Theater here in Washington, DC from March 1-6, 2011.  David E. Talbert, originally from Washington, DC, is no stranger to Hollywood as a director and producer for theatre, television and film. Talbert remains one of the most creative and prolific minds working in theater today. The premiere of Talbert’s “What My Husband Doesn’t Know,” celebrates his 20th anniversary in theatre.

Rivertowne Movie Theatre Part II

Residents of Oxon Hill from years ago may remember the days of going out to the movies at the movie theatre in the Rivertowne Commons Market Place.

AMC Rivertowne 12 boasted 12 screening rooms and between 153 to 320 seats in each screening room.  In 2006 the theatre was closed, as the 20-year lease expired and the AMC company left Oxon Hill

Now Spotlight Amusements has picked up the space and is looking to revitalize the once popular movie theatre location.  This time, the movie theatre space will have seating that ranges between 150 to 600 people in each screening room, with at least three theatres with stadium-style seating, and 3-D capabilities.

Christmas Celebration 2010

Christmas Celebration 2010

The holiday’s are here.  People are Christmas shopping, people are caroling, and it’s snowing.  The holiday’s are in full affect.  But one exciting thing that has come to our area is the Christmas Celebration at Evangel Cathedral in Largo, Maryland.  The Christmas Celebration has been a big hit in our area for many years in the past.  This play will leave you in amazement as you watch the birth, crucifixion, and resurrection of Christ.  You also can’t forget the live animals, the laser shows, pyrotechnics, and other special affects.  But this year marks the 20th anniversary of the Broadway style play.  Twenty years is a huge milestone, so what wouldn’t be better with performances by Grammy artists Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, and Marvin Sapp.  If you haven’t ever seen this show, this would be the perfect year to attend this extraordinary event.
